Despite cloud and a bright Moon the five Astra birds at 19 degrees east can be seen flaring to almost naked eye magnitude before entering shadow
In the sequence above we see three Eutelsat Hotbirds at 13 degrees east flaring to spectacular levels before entering shadow.The "angel wings" appearance is due to poor collimation of the camera , but adds to the spectacle !All frames are of 30 second duration , FOV 30 arc minutes
